Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has decided to provide rice at Re.1 and Rs.2 per kg to 37 lakh poor families in the State from the financial year starting from April. Officials said the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh. Also, it was decided to provide salt free of cost to these 37 lakh families. The BJP had promised the same in its election manifesto during this year’s Assembly polls. — PTI
