Chitradurga: Chief Whip in Legislative Council A.H. Shivayogiswamy told presspersons on Wednesday that Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the district have sent a proposal to the Government for creating a sub-division in the district by appointing another Assistant Commissioner (AC). Mr. Shivayogiswamy said that it is difficult for one official to manage the district which has six taluks. For better administration, the Government has been urged to create a sub-division comprising three taluks: Challakere, Molakalmur and Hiriyur, with Challakere as sub-divisional headquarter. Training centreOn the same occasion, Mr. Shivayogiswamy informed that the State Government had released grants of Rs. 25 lakh for building a training centre for candidates aspiring to take up competitive exams. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs. 50 lakh. The site on which the centre is proposed to be built has been identified in IUDP Layout of the city. “The objective of the centre will be to provide training and books for training candidates aspiring to take up competitive exams. As such a centre is not there now, aspirants have to spend a lot of money from their pockets to buy expensive books or subscribe for the magazines”, he said. Mr. Shivayogiswamy added that the centre would house a library. Experts would impart training to aspirants.
