40 injured as bus overturns

CHICKBALLAPUR: At least 40 people, most of them school students, were injured after a private bus overturned and fell into a tank in Gudibande police station limits in Chickballapur district on Wednesday. Five persons, including two students, who suffered serious injuries, have been shifted to hospitals in Bangalore. Some students who were injured in their eyes have been admitted to Minto Hospital in Bangalore. While 15 injured passengers and the bus driver are being treated at the Government Hospital in Gudibande, 10 have been admitted in the Chickballapur hospital, the police said. — Special Correspondent
