Youth Congress protests Pawan Kalyan’s remarks

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: The remarks by the PR leader Pawan Kalyan targeting all the State Congress leaders including the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy have evoked an equally strong protest from the city Youth Congress cadres.

Party cadres who described Pavan Kalyan as an ‘insane’ person showed their protest against his outbursts in a novel way.

In a brief skit enacted on the road at the Gandhi junction, the YC ‘doctors’ with stethoscopes around their necks subjected Pavan’s effigy to different ‘tests’ and ‘prescribed’ that since he lost his ‘mental balance’ he needed immediate admission into the psychiatric ward. It is not safe to let him freely move about in his present mental condition, they were heard screaming at their demonstration.

When the demonstrators attempted to set afire Pavan’s effigy, police thwarted the attempt amid heavy pushing and jostling.

The Youth Congress functionaries who were on a dharna and rasta rook were later carted away in waiting police jeeps and let off subsequently.
