Press club award for Enagi Balappa

An honour: Labour Minister Bachche Gowda presenting the ‘Person of the year 2008’ award to theatre luminary Enagi Balappa at a function held at the Press Club of Bangalore on Wednesday. City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari and actor Bhavana are seen.

Bangalore: Theatre luminary 96-year-old Enagi Balappa was on Wednesday honoured with “Person of the year 2008” award by the Press Club of Bangalore (PCB).

Addressing the gathering after receiving the award, Mr. Ballappa said that an artiste could not become famous without the encouragement and support of the Government and the people.

Veteran photo journalist T.L Ramaswamy, and senior journalists D. Mahadevappa and S.R. Venkatesh Prasad were honoured with the annual award of the PCB.

Labour Minister B.N. Bachche Gowda, City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari, club president E.V. Satyanarayana were present on the occasion.
