Facile win for Syndicate Bank

HYDERABAD: Centuries by openers Vamshi Ram (108, 6 x 4, 1 x 6) and Neeraj Bist (101, 14 x 4) helped Syndicate Bank record an innings and 122-run win over Zinda Tilismath in the A-Division (three-day) knock-out cricket championship here on Wednesday.

The scores: Zinda Tilismath 131 & 169 (Arun Deva 50) lost to Syndicate Bank 422 for five decl. (Vamshi Ram 108, Neeraj Bist 101, Asad Ali 60, Sai Anurag 74, Razi four for 105).

Shastri cruises

Shastri Soccer Club recorded a comfortable 4-0 win over State Bank of India in the SAAP Budweiser Premier League football championship at Gymkhana Grounds here.

Shastri went into the lead in the 13th minute through winger Sashank who latched on to a neat pass from midfielder Anuj.

In the second session, Sashank was on target again with a solo effort in the 42nd minute. Within three minutes, striker Rahul struck and the fourth goal was scored by Prudhvi in the 54th minute.

There will be no matches on Thursday.

ECIL and Republican Boys Company were locked in a 1-1 draw in the B-Division hockey league championship match at Gymkhana Grounds here.

After a barren first-half, ECIL took the lead through Sadanand. RBC fought back well to score the equaliser through S. Shivakumar.

KDCA ‘B’ league

The Krishna District Cricket Association will organise the ‘B’ division league tournament in the first week of January, 2009, according to KDCA secretary Koka Ramesh on Wednesday.
