Mavullamma fest from January 13

Bhimavaram: The 45th anniversary celebrations of Sri Mavullamma Vari Devasthanam will be celebrated from Jan. 13 to Feb.13, according to M.V.Suresh Babu, Assistant Commissioner of Endowments Department and Executive Officer of the devasthanam.

Speaking to media here on Friday, he said special ‘alankarams’ would be arranged in the temple from Feb. 5 to 13 as part of celebrations.

On Feb.5 the goddess will appear as ‘Sri Adi Lakshmi’, on Feb 6th as ‘Sri Dhanya Lakshmi’, on Feb 7th as ‘Sri Dhairya Lakshmi’, on Feb 8th as ‘Sri Gaja Lakshmi’, on Feb 9th as ‘Sri Santhana Lakshmi’, on Feb 10th as ‘Sri Vijaya Lakshmi’, on Feb 11th as ‘Sri Vidya Lakshmi’, on Feb 12th as ‘Sri Dhana Lakshmi’ and on Feb 13th as ‘Sri Annapurna Devi".

On the concluding day ‘Akhanda Anna Samaradha’ would be arranged for devotees, he said.

He said ‘Pancha Harathulu’ were launched in the temple on Jan. 1 by Grandhi Srinivas, MLA, Bhimavaram.

He said the temple would be closed from Jan. 3 to Jan 12 after performing puja of ‘Kalapakarshana’.

However, the routine pujas of Sri Mavullamma varu would be arranged for the sake of the devotees from the backside of the ‘Pradakshana Mandapam’ (in the form of huge photo of Sri Mavullammavaru and Kalasam). He said information centre will be opened for the convenient of devotees during the month-long festivals.
