Setback for Congress

ELURU: The ruling Congress suffered a setback in Denduluru, represented by Minister for Minor Irrigation Maganti Venkateswara Rao, in byelections to the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC ) reserved for Scheduled Castes. The byelection results pertaining to three ZPTCs were declared on Friday. The Congress candidate Kammula Rangamma lost to Prattipatti Suseela by a huge margin of 4,472 votes. The seat fell vacant followingresignation of Kati Sugnanam of the Congress on personal grounds. Even as the election gave a fresh lease of life for the TDP, it cast a gloom over the Congress camp.
