Chari pair takes honours

CHENNAI: T.T. Chari and Lakshmi Chari emerged the winning pair on Thursday in the Madras Gymkhana Club annual Open bridge tournament.

Other placings:

2. Uday Bedekar and Prabha Kunder; 3. K. Ramamurthy and Lalitha Lakshman; 4. Rajesh Shah and Ms P. Divakaran; 5. Sathinarayanan and Selva; 6. A.S. Venkatesh and Sushi.

Table tennis team

The following players will represent Tamil Nadu in the senior National and inter-State table tennis championships to be held in Patna from January 5 to 11.

Men: G. Sathiyan, R. Abhishek, Sivananda Seshadri, R.S. Raja and S. Prasanna.

Women: A.V. Niveditha, Swetha Kumaravel, N. Arulselvi, Nishanthi Kumaravel and N. Vidya.

Coaches: V.M. Ravi Venkatesh and N.R. Srinivasan; Manager: J. Gopal.
