NELLORE: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), Nellore region is planning to develop temple tourism by operating special buses for the convenience of the pilgrims visiting various temples in the neighbouring districts, said the Corporation regional manager P. Seshagiri Rao. As part of it, RTC is running special services to Narasimhakonda, Jonnawada, Sripuram (Veluru), Golagamudi, Penchalakona, Udayagiri, Tiruchanuru, Kanipakam, Konda Bitragunta, Appalayagunta, Narayanavanam, Tirupati, Kakuturu and other temple towns. The special buses are being operated from Nellore, Udayagiri, Ravuru, Sulluripet, Venkatagiri and Vakadu depots in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district. Likewise, the Corporation will run Sabarimala tour packages for the convenience of Ayyappa devotees. Super Luxury, Deluxe and Express buses will be arranged as per the choice of the passengers and the devotees can engage the bus or can take tickets individually. Buses engaged for tour package will touch the major temples en route Chennai, Sri Rangam, Madurai, Kurthalam, Erimela and reach Pampa. Pilgrims wishing to visit the temples during ‘Dhanurmasam’ or for Sabarimala tour package can get the tickets from advanced reservation counters.
