Not untouchable: Mani

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress (M) leader K.M. Mani has said the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is not untouchable and it is for the Congress party as the major constituent of the United Democratic Front (UDF) to make its stand known before the matter is discussed and decided by the front.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Mani criticised Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac’s statements against the economic stimulus packages of the Central government. He was merely trying to conceal the LDF government’s failure in boosting capital investments as promised in his budget.

He accused the LDF government of sitting on the Kuttanad and Idukki packages without doing anything.

It was shameful that the government could not prepare a single project under the Kuttanad package and had to advertise for those willing to prepare and implement schemes, he said.
