CHANDIGARH: Haryana Power Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday administered the oath of office to Rohtash Dahiya as a member of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission here. With this, the set-up of the three-member Commission has been completed. The other two members of the Commission are its chairman, Bhaskar Chatterjee, and member Tej Singh Tewatia. Mr. Dahiya, who hails from Sonepat district, had been serving as Member (Thermal), Central Electricity Authority and ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Authority since August 2006. He has 34 years’ experience of working as an engineer in various capacities, including monitoring progress of construction of thermal power projects set up in the Central, State and private sectors in the country. Important tasksUnder his supervision as a CEA Member, some of the important tasks completed included preparation of operation norms for thermal power stations, standardisation of technical specifications for thermals, formulation of technical standards for construction of new thermals, optimum land requirement for thermal power stations, start-up of two ultra mega power projects at Tilaiya in Jharkhand and Cheyyur in Tamil Nadu.
