Hockey academy inaugurated
Bangalore: The Jude Felix Hockey Academy was inaugurated here on Saturday.
The St. Mary’s Orphanage director Fr. John Anthony slotted the ball into a vacant goal to symbolically launch the academy. Immediately an exhibition match between Red XI and Yellow XI was held at the St. Mary’s Orphanage Ground.
The match featured a clutch of former and current hockey players with Dhanraj Pillay, Felix, Anil Adrin, Len Aiyappa and Sandeep Michael revelling with their moves.
A touch of stardust too was added as Rahul Dravid ventured out as a substitute player for 15 minutes and ran some deft runs in tandem with Dhanraj.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw and Dravid after wishing the organisers had to leave the venue in a tearing hurry as students and fans besieged him.
