Sri Lankan national held

TAMBARAM: A 55-year-old Sri Lankan national has been arrested on charges of cheating a family in Selaiyur to the tune of Rs.19.5 lakh.
A press release said Anand Kumar of Selaiyur had complained that convinced by the assurances given by two Sri Lankan men living near his house of getting a job for two of his relatives in Canada, he had given the cash to them some time ago.
Soon after receiving the money, the two men vanished and all efforts to trace them failed.
Following the complaint, a special team traced one of them, Sargunapalan, at Kovilambakkam, on Friday, the release said.
A search is on for Kiruba, his accomplice.
