Development to be the main election issue of party BJP and INLD alliance to be a “flop show” Ambala: Haryana Congress Chief Phool Chand Mulana on Saturday said he was willing to contest the Lok Sabha election from the Ambala constituency if the party high command permits him. At present, Union Minister Selja is representing the constituency. Talking to mediapersons at his residence here, Mr. Mulana said Haryana unit of Congress was fully prepared for the coming Lok Sabha elections and development would be the main election issue of the party. He said that by the end of this year Haryana would be self sufficient in power sector as work on setting up of a number of new power plants were in progress. He said the people of Haryana had already rejected opposition BJP and INLD in the last Assembly elections and this “unholy alliance” would prove to be a “flop show” in coming Lok Sabha elections. Replying to a question, Mr. Mulana said expansion of the Cabinet and shuffling of portfolios could take place soon. Replying to a question, he alleged the social engineering formula of the BSP had “lost” its “credibility in Uttar Pradesh and there was no place for it in Haryana. Asked whether Congress would fulfil its election promise of setting up a separate Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee (SGPC) for Haryana, he said the government had not received the Chatta Commission report in this regard so far.
