Bedi for peace through school books
NEW DELHI: Advocating the message of peace and positive thoughts through history books at school level, Magsaysay Award winner Kiran Bedi on Saturday said texts reflecting hatred and revenge should be withdrawn and proposed a rating system for countries which promote ill-will among children.
“Books sow the seeds of new voices, so it is very important for it to be a right voice,” she said.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the World Congress on “Giving children a voice” in the Capital, Ms. Bedi said: “We should nurture values of sharing and giving in them and not the feeling of hatred and violence.”
