GUNTUR: Guntur-I MLA Nambur Sheik Subhani’s son Sheik Munnu, along with two others, were arrested on Saturday for roughing up a B.Tech student of RVR&JC College of Engineering at his residence in Arundelpet in the early hours of Saturday. According to the Guntur police, Sheik Munnu, along with two friends, Sayed Safi, son of a hotel owner, and another engineering student Mannava Rajesh, went to the house of S. Sriram, II B.Tech student and beat him black and blue for being close to a B.Tech girl student of the same college. Sriram lodged a complaint with the police. After a lot of discussion, Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha finally ordered arrest of the MLA’s son, along with two others, and produced them in the V Additional Munsif Magistrate’s Court in the afternoon. No bail grantedAll the three have been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody and no bail has been granted to them, the police said. This is the second such incident involving the MLA’s son in the last two years in the same college.
