Cheating case against Goa Minister

PANAJI: The Goa police have registered a case of cheating against Tourism Minister Francisco alias Micky Pacheco and two others for allegedly forging the signature of the Minister’s estranged wife, Sara, to sell her car.

A first information report was registered at Quepem in south Goa based on her complaint. The police told The Hindu on Saturday that the case was registered against Mr. Pacheco, Punan Naik and the Assistant Director of Transport, Quepem (ex-officio), under Sections 403, 407, 468, 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. On Friday, the Block Development Officer of Salcete, Uday Prabhudessai, who is the designated Protection Officer under the Domestic Violence Act, forwarded her complaint against Mr. Pacheco to the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao.
