YSR responds positively to Minister’s proposal

Kakinada: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has positively responded to the proposal for construction of a mini fishing harbour-cum-jetty at Uppada village when Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju impressed upon him the need to provide an exclusive harbour/jetty facility for about 7,000 fishermen of U. Kotthapalli mandal who are currently using a berth at Kakinada port.

Mr. Pallam Raju met the Chief Minister during the latter’s visit at Rajahmundry on Saturday and requested him to sanction the project so that the fishermen of U.Kotthapalli mandal need not entirely depend on Kakinada port for their livelihood.
