Bodhgaya: An international prayer for peace and fraternity commenced here in Bihar at the Mahabodhi temple on Sunday under the leadership of 17th Karmapa, Urgyen Thinley Dorji. About 8,000 Buddhist monks drawn from 30 countries are scheduled to participate in the week-long prayer, ‘Kanglo Manlam’. Monks from Sri Lanka, South Korea, Japan, France, Taiwan, Tibet, United States and United Kingdom and other nations have been arriving to take part in the prayer and have a glimpse of the Karmapa and the Mahbodhi tree under which Lord Buddha had attained enlightenment.
