Senior leaders of political parties participate in Velama Garjana Parties asked to allot Rajahmundry or Eluru Lok Sabha seat to the community Rajahmundry: ‘Velama Garjana’ which was organised here on Sunday and attended by party senior leaders unanimously declared that there were no differences among sub-castes in the Velama community and demanded proper political representation to them in accordance with their population in Assemblies and Parliament. The Garjana which was presided over by Predesh Congress Committee secretary Dokala Murali and attended by TDP Parliamentary Party leader Kinjarapu Yerram Naidu, TDP MP Yerraballi Dayakara Rao, Congress Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao, Juvvadi Ratnakararao, RTC chairman M. Satyanarayana Rao, TRS secretary Bhim Rao, PRP leader and former Minister Kotagiri Vidhyadhara Rao, MLAs Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu, K. Atchnnayudu, Gandi Babji, Poodi Mangapati, MLC Ch. Sudhakar Rao and former Mayor of Vizag Sabbam Hari. Five resolutionsThe meeting passed five resolutions. By its political resolution, the leaders said Velamas’ number was a deciding factor in Rajahmundry, Tuni, Prattipadu, Anaparti and Peddapuram constituencies. And in West Godavari they had good numbers in Eluru, Denduluru, Vunguturu, Kaikaluru and Tadepalli Gudem. The Velama Garjana asked all political parties to allocate Rajahmundry or Eluru Lok Sabha seat and Rajahmundry, Tuni, Prattipadu, Eluru, Denduluru and Vunguturu Assembly constituencies to them above party lines. By another resolution, the Garjana said Koppula Velama and Polinati Velamas should be changed from B.C. Group `D’ to `A’ which was long pending. By yet another resolution they stated that there were no differences in their sub-castes. The last resolution pertained to condolences to Velama leaders Challa Appa Rao, Gorrela Veera Suri Apparao, Allu Veera Appa Rao, Pudi Babu Rao and those who died in the Mumbai blasts.
