The need for propaganda to rouse religious consciousness among the people was emphasised by Mr. K. Kamaraj, Chief Minister, on December 31, presiding over the fifth anniversary of the Dharmapuram Adhina Madalaya Devalaya Samaya Prachara Nilayam at Thyagarayanagar. Sri Somasundara Thambiran, referred to the work of the Nilayam for the promotion of religious works in Tamil, the propagation of Bhakti through publication of religious books at cost price, and by arranging discourses and Tirumurai classes.
