“Tamil is unique”
Special Correspondent
TIRUVARUR: Tamil is unique in having three forms _ Iyal, Isai and Natakam (literature, music and drama), said M.Chandrasekaran, Collector, here on Sunday.
Participating in the Mallari Isai Vizha and fourth anniversary of Isai Priya Kalai Kuzhu, the Collector said that no other language in the world had this uniqueness.
“Iyal is expressing. When music is added to it, it becomes Isai and when both Iyal and Isai are mixed and presented along with acting it becomes drama. Music is loved by all including plants and animals,” he said.
The Collector released a book containing the essays of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi related to Iyal Isai and Natakam on the occasion.
