BSNL makes choice difficult - Reader's Mail

Every now and then, the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is offering various new schemes for its mobile phone subscribers. Those who are using the prepaid and post-paid services of the BSNL can avail themselves of the facility of the special schemes. However, there is a lot of confusion among the consumers about the various schemes, as they are unable to distinguish between the schemes. It has become a tedious task for the prepaid users to select a particular scheme from the available lot. Instead of announcing so many schemes, I request the authorities of the BSNL to announce only one scheme each for the prepaid and post-paid customers and provide the maximum benefit to them.

Gas customers at their wits’ end

Cooking gas agencies are not following the timetables that are displayed at their outlets. The agencies neither open in the morning hours, nor close in the evening as per the schedule. The consumers are facing a lot of inconvenience due to such practices. Moreover, the practice of telephone booking of refill cylinder has become a test to the patience of the consumers, as the personnel at the gas agencies never attend the telephone calls. The phones are either engaged or keep ringing till the consumer stops his efforts . The district Collector is requested to look into the issue.

This train never comes in time

Late running has become a routine for train number 405 from Secunderabad to Guntur via Dronachalam. Though the train is scheduled to reach Guntur station at 9.05 a.m., it never arrives on time. One can expect the train at any time between 10 a.m. and noon. Operating the train in a circuitous route may be the reason for the regular late running. In such case, the problem can be solved only after laying a second line in the route. Rescheduling the train between Dronachalam and Guntur instead of operating between Secunderabad and Guntur can solve the problem.

Ensure quality food

The hot beverages being sold at the outlets on the premises of railway stations are of poor quality and insipid taste. Recently, I travelled between Ongole and Vijayawada in a super-fast train, and during my journey I depended on the railway stalls for coffee and tea at both the stations. Despite the high price, the stall keepers are not maintaining any quality. The coffee was nothing but hot water . I wonder whether the checking authorities taste the foodstuff at least once a week. The authorities are requested to take steps to ensure supply of better quality of foodstuff .
