Man kills mother near Tirupattur

TIRUPATTUR: A 65-year-old woman died after her son physically assaulted her at her residence at Saamanakuttai in Sevathoor village on Sunday.

Police said Janaki (65) lived along with her sons Govindaraj, Perumal and Venkatesan. Venkatesan married the daughter of Janaki’s brother Sasikala, a couple of years ago.

Due to some domestic problem Venkatesan and Sasikala had got separated.

However, Janaki continued to live along with her sons. On Sunday Venkatesan entered into a fight with his mother over a property issue. During the course of argument Venkatesan physically assaulted his mother.

Janaki was admitted to the Government Hospital at Tirupattur. Her condition turned serious and she was later referred to the Government Hospital at Vellore.

Janaki died while being taken to Vellore.

The Kandili police had registered a case.
