Good knock by Surya

NEW DELHI: Surya scored a fine half-century as Madan Lal Academy defeated S.S. Khalsa Academy by 12 runs in the 2nd Krishan Sehwag memorial cricket tournament at the MRV School ground here on Monday.

Kabir Singh Bali (38) was the top-scorer for the Khalsa Academy.

In another match, Sonnet Club beat R.P. Academy by seven wickets. Rohit and Hemant gathered 39 runs each as R.P. Academy reached a decent total.

But knocks by Kartik (37) and Madhav (35) helped Sonnet overhaul the target.

The scores: Madan Lal Academy 178 in 25 overs (Surya 54) bt S.S. Khalsa Academy 166 in 22 overs.

R.P. Academy 131 in 25 overs lost to Sonnet Club 135 for three in 22 overs.
