Tighter security at Bagdogra airport after threat
Special Correspondent
KOLKATA: Security has been tightened at the Bagdogra airport in north Bengal after an anonymous letter warned authorities of an attack there within seven days.
“The letter was written in Bengali and given to the authorities on Saturday. It has been handed over to the police. It came in an envelope and bore no name of the sender,” airport director K.K. Bhaumik told The Hindu over telephone on Monday.
“Like other airports across the country, the Bagdogra airport has been on high alert since the Mumbai terror attacks. Now additional security measures have been put in place there.”
