Madhya Pradesh MLAs take oath

Bhopal: As many as 215 of a total of 230 legislators in the 13th Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Monday took oath as members of the House on the first day of its maiden nine-day session.

Of these members, 21 took oath in Sanskrit and they included Ministers Babulal Gaur, Kailash Vijayawargiya, Laxmikant Sharma, Archana Chitnis, Ram Krishna Kusumariya and Ranjana Baghel.

15 to be sworn in today

The remaining 15 would take their oath on Tuesday

In the morning, Pro-tem Speaker, Jamuna Devi administered the oath to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, his ministerial colleagues and members of the presiding officers’ panel which included Sartaj Singh Choudhary, Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi and Ramlakhan Singh. Three members of the panel, Narottam Mishra, Govind Singh and Kedarnath Shukla, were absent from the House. PTI
