Two children drown in tank

PUDUKOTTAI: Two children drowned in a tank at Ramakoundanpatti near Viralimalai on Sunday evening.

The police identified the dead as S. Parthasarathy (11) and his sister S. Kavitha (15). The incident happened when they went to the Kothadikulam in the village to take a bath. Parathasarathy slipped into the tank and Kavitha rushed to his rescue.

The body was later fished out of the tank and sent for post mortem. Viralimalai police have registered a case and are investigating.
