Staff Correspondent

Udupi: Director of Regional Resource Centre, National School of Drama (NSD), Bangalore, Suresh Anagalli said on Monday that modern dramas should attract more audience.

He was speaking at the valedictory of the three-day drama festival, organised by “Rangabhumi” to mark its 44th anniversary here.

Mr. Anagalli said that small plays had the capacity to transform the personality of artistes. People should learn to appreciate all aspects of theatre and not just its visual aspect, he said. President of Rangabhumi K. Ananda Ganiga welcomed the gathering. Writer A. Ishwarayya presided over the function.

President of Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishath Ambatanaya Mudrady and convener of Kalajagattu, Mumbai, Vijaykumar Shetty Tonse, were felicitated on the occasion. Artiste Mandya Ramesh and general manager of Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society Jayakar Shetty Indralli were present.
