VCK cadres detained

TAMBARAM: Pallikaranai police have detained a group of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi cadres for damaging the compound wall of a house belonging to a government official at Viduthalai Nagar in Kovilambakkam on Monday.
Pallikaranai police, who are investigating the case after a complaint from M.Ashokan, Public Relations Officer at the Kancheepuram Collectorate, said a group of VCK cadres assembled near the house of Mr. Ashokan around 11 a.m. and damaged a portion of the compound wall.
His wife, who was alone at home, was threatened by the group that claimed the land to be theirs.
They damaged the tail lights of a car parked inside Mr. Ashokan’s house. Personnel from Pallikaranai police station went to the spot and detained a group of the VCK cadres. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
