Rs. 3.5 lakh stolen from cloth shop

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Burglars took away Rs. 3.5 lakh from a cloth shop at Ameerpet after sneaking inside by cutting off an iron bar of the rear window with a hacksaw blade on Sunday night.

The shop owner found the cash stolen on Monday morning and complained to the Punjagutta police.

The rear window of the shop building has two iron bars, one of which the offenders cut off, creating enough space enough for a person to pass through.

“The burglar entered through it, collected keys of the cash chest kept before the photos of deities,” Sub Inspector K. Nageswara Rao said.

The shop owner told police that he used to keep day’s collection in the cash chest and the bank staff would collect the amount the next morning.
