Vignesh scalps four

CHENNAI: G. Vignesh took four wickets for 12 runs to help VBCA beat FSCA ‘D’ by five wickets in the K.R. Sundararajan Memorial under-13 cricket tournament, organised by the Future Stars Cricket Academy.

The scores: Asiatic Cricket Academy 144 for three in 30 overs (Sudarshan 75) lost to FSCA ‘B’ 145 for two in 27 overs (S. Kaushik 49 n.o., Prashanth 31); FSCA ‘C’ 115 for six in 30 overs (R.B. Magaswin 26 n.o.) lost to Chakradar Rao CA 18 for three in 18.1 overs (Vikram 34 n.o., Dixit 35); Little Masters CA 139 for seven in 30 overs (Ragul 45, Primal Shah 45, Pranoy three for 30) lost to Reddy’s CA 142 for two in 16.1 overs (K.R. Anand 72 n.o.); FSCA ‘D’ 105 in 28.1 overs (Krishna 29, G. Vignesh four for 12) lost to VBCA 106 for five in 17 overs (Akash Sivam 36, K. Aravindan three for 20).

Tiruvallur takes lead

Bowlers A. Karthik of Tiruvallur and Theni’s Ulaganathan took the spotlight as the Tiruvallur took a 51-run first innings lead on a low-scoring opening day of the two-day TNCA under-16 inter-District cricket quarterfinal here on Monday.

The scores: At Chennai: Theni 66 in 34.4 overs (A. Karthik five for 14) & 18 for no loss in six overs vs. Tiruvallur 117 in 56.3 overs (S. Siddanth Ekalavya 29, Ulaganathan six for 45).

Xavier hits 128

Johnson Xavier cracked 128 to help First Flight to a 110-run win over Keane in an SMCA league match played on Saturday.

The scores: Royal Sundaram 144 in 28.1 overs lost to Reliance Capital 145 for five in 27 overs (Sathyajith 60 not out).

Club Mahindra 194 for six in 30 overs (Manosh 59) bt Keane 114 in 24.1 overs.

First Flight 251 for six in 30 overs (Johnson Xavier 128, V. Kumaresan 43) bt Keane 141 for six in 30 overs (Karmukilan 44).
