Pravasi awards

Thiruvananthapuram: Spiritual leader Mata Amritananda Mayi, VSSC director K. Radhakrishnan, G. Karthikyan MLA, Malayala Manorama Chief Editor K.M. Mathew, industrialists Varghese Moolan, Sabu Kurien, N. Jehangir and K.P. Sasidharan and Kanhirapally Bishop Mar Mathew Arackal are among the 19 persons who have been selected for the seventh annual Pravasi Bharati awards.

The awards were announced by coordinator of the Pravasi Bharatiya Forum Kadakkal Ramesh and leaders M.A. Kareem and S. Ahamed here on Monday. The other awardees include chairman of Ananthapuri Hospital A. Marthanda Pillai, legal consultant Ripple Hamsa, film producers Tom George Kolath and Aryadan Shoukath, industrialists P.V. Gangadharan, Jaison P. Arambankudi, Unnikrishna Kurup and K. Noohu Khan, managing director of Consumerfed Riji G. Nair and general secretary, World Malayali Council Captain George Kakkanad. – Special Correspondent
