Boy knocked down by car Crime Notes

Bangalore: A four-year-old boy died on the spot after a speeding car hit him near Frazer Town on Sunday. V. Dinesh, son of Swami Vivekananda of C.K. Garden near Banasawadi railway junction, was knocked down by a car when he was playing near his house, the police said. Vivekanananda, a mason, is a native of Tamil Nadu.

Bag snatched

A teacher from Meghalaya, who is on a vacation in Bangalore, lost personal belongings and cash worth Rs. 17,000 after three motorcycle-borne men attacked and snatched her bag on Sunday. The accused have misused the credit and debit cards that were snatched from the victim.

The Frazer Town police said that Detti J. Marbaniang was walking back home with her sister when the robbers attacked them on Davis Road near Richards Park in Frazer Town. The accused approached her on a scooter and snatched her bag, which had Rs, 4,500 in cash, a digital camera, a mobile phone, credit cards and debit cards. Detti sustained minor injuries after she fell on the road.

Arrested

The Frazer Town police have arrested three persons on charges of snatching mobile phones from the public and claimed to have solved 12 cases.

The names of the accused have been given as Mohammad Asif alias Asif Hajij Aslam (19), a resident of Kamaraja Road, Mohammad Asif Yusuf (19) of Nova Street in Shivaji Nagar and Syed Nayeem Irshad (19) from Thimmaiah Road.

Clueless

The Magadi Road police are still clueless about a seven-year-old boy Ankush, who was kidnapped by unidentified persons on December 30, 2008.

Ankush is the son of autorickshaw driver Lakshman and Saraswathi, residents of Gangappa Garden in the city. The police said that miscreants are demanding a ransom of Rs. 3 lakh and have been making ransom calls . Parents have received several calls from Gowribidanur, Doddaballapur, Hosakote and J.P. Nagar. Since two days the parents did not receive any ransom calls, the Magadi Road police said.
