Markets abuzz with Sankranti shoppers

Pongal or Sankranti is the most famous harvest festival of South India. The occasion symbolises exchanging of gifts, which multiplies the joy of the festival and helps develop stronger bonds of love and affinity between friends, relatives and neighbours. This is also the time when businessmen and shopkeepers gear up with special schemes and offers to greet the customers.
