Congress MPTC members meet

VIZIANAGARAM: State Congress MPTCs’ Association convenor M. Nagaraju has asked Mandal Parishad Territoiral Constituency members to popularise government schemes by taking up door-to-door campaign and strive for the victory of Congress in the coming elections.

Speaking at the district Congress MPTCs’ meeting at the revenue kalyanamandapam here on Tuesday, Mr. Nagaraju said the association would hold a ‘sadassu’ at L.B. Stadium in Hyderabad after Sankranti to represent their demands to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

The Chief Minister had recognised their services and announced honorarium, which the TDP government had ignored, he said and added that a proposal to release grants to MPTCs too for various developmental activities in their areas was under consideration.

Later, the MPTCs submitted a memorandum to the convenor and demanded delegation of powers in the appointment of committees for mid-day meal scheme, mandal parishad schools, ex gratia of Rs.5lakhs to kin of the MPTCs killed in accidents among 15 issues.
