Public can send suggestions on modernisation of force through another link e-mail addresses of officers have also been given PUDUCHERRY: As part of its effort to have more public interface, the Police Department has recently provided an additional link on its website http://police.puducherry.gov.in for the public to send complaints through email. The “Report Crime” link will help the people send complaints to Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Manish Kumar Agrawal. The complaints will be considered as petitions and forwarded to the respective police stations for action, a senior police officer told The Hindu. Likewise, another link had been provided for the public to send their suggestions on modernisation of police force. Suggestions could be addressed to Inspector-General of Police S. Vasudeva Rao, Mr. Agrawal and Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime and Intelligence) B. Srikanth. The e-mail addresses of the officers had also been given in the link. Instructions to provide the links were given immediately after Alok Kumar Verma assumed office as Director-General of Police. Senior police officers had been directed to check their mails, sources said. A similar exercise was undertaken by the Delhi Police, which, according to a senior officer, had good response.
