Ration rice seized

CHENGAM: Four persons were arrested on Tuesday for smuggling ration rice to Bangalore .

The vehicle was intercepted by Tiruvannamalai District Supply Officer Kandavel on Tiruvannamalai-Bangalore National Highway.

Following a tip-off, Mr. Kandavel and a team intercepted a lorry with Karnataka registration outside the Chengam Block Development Office, and found that it was carrying rice. Periathai of Tiruvannamalai and Satish of Ayanpalayam near Tiruvannamalai, driver Deva Reddy of Bangalore and cleaner Devendaran were arrested.
