Expel Ahamed: BJP

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.K. Krishnadas has demanded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to expel Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed from the Cabinet for challenging the foreign policy of the country.

Mr. Krishnadas told reporters here on Tuesday that the Minister’s demand to snap ties with Israel was against the declared foreign policy. Mr. Ahamed being a part of the government should have expressed his disagreement with Mr. Singh than making a public statement.

He accused Mr. Ahamed of toeing Union Minister A.R. Antulay’s line by openly challenging the government. The Congress and the IUML should clarify their stance on the issue, he said.

Mr. Krishnadas accused CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan of intimidating the Nair Service Society (NSS).

Mr. Vijayan was trying to disrupt the communal harmony in the State.
