Siva’s effort ends in vain

Namakkal: Despite Siva’s five-wicket haul, Winner Cricket Club (Sendamangalam) went down by two wickets to KSR Cricket Club (Tiruchengodu) in the Canara Bank-DCAN second division cricket league here recently.

The scores: Winner CC (Sendamangalam) 110 in 32.5 overs (B. Satesh Kumar four for 33) bt KSR CC 111 for eight in 32.5 overs (Siva five for 22 including a hat-trick).

Golf tournament

The Coimbatore Golf Club will conduct a one of a kind stroke play ‘Father and Son’ tournament at the CGC course on February 8. The title notwithstanding, other combinations within the family are also eligible to play.

It will be an 18-hole better ball stroke play tournament. Each player will have his own ball and the better ball nett score for each hole will be considered for the aggregate total.

The maximum handicap allowed for men is 24 and women 26 (irrespective of age). Entries must reach the Manager of the Club on or before February 4.
