Shashank arrives after treatment in U.S.

Staff Reporter

WARANGAL: Scores of neighbours made a beeline to the residence of Shashank Pullur (24), when the student who survived serious bullet injuries after some unidentified students shot at him in the U.S., returned to Warangal.

Shashank kept recounting his horrifying experience when his friends and relatives posed a series of questions about the incident.

He said he was not afraid of going back to continue his studies at the Middle Tennessee State University.

Shashank was shot at near his apartment at Murfreesboro in the Tennessee State on November 15 last year.

After undergoing treatment at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, where he was operated upon twice for bullet injuries, he returned home on Tuesday here.

Shashank said the four-member African-American gang had observed him possessing some dollars in his wallet. “They observed my wallet at the gas-filling station and probably followed me. I did not suspect them,” he told The Hindu.

While his friends reached the apartment, he went back to the car to take some books. Seeing him alone, the students caught him and thrashed him.
