Eye camp held for auto drivers

TIRUVARUR: A free eye camp was organised for the benefit of autorickshaw drivers at Tiruvarur on Monday in view of the Road Safety Week.
Tiruvarur Collector M.Chandrasekaran inaugurated the camp.
The Collector said that as part of road safety week celebrations, pamphlets on the necessity to follow road safety rules were distributed in the town and district on January 1.
A drive against shrill horns was conducted on January 2. On Wednesday, essay writing and oratory competitions for school and college students will be held.
A massive rally to create awareness of road safety will be taken out on January 7.
At the general grievances day held at the Collectorate on Monday, the Collector distributed musical instruments to seven persons belonging to Mannargudi who said they didn’t have the money to buy the instruments.
