Wireless sets for VVIP security in Kashmir

Jammu: With an aim to upgrade VVIP security cover in the state, Jammu and Kashmir police have provided the Special Service Group (SSG) with latest wireless sets for remote and far-flung areas.

“We have upgraded the VVIP communication security apparatus in the state and SSG has now been armed with latest UHF (Ultra High Frequency) 400 MHZ wireless sets to maintain best communication in remote, hilly and far-flung areas,” a senior police officer said on Tuesday.

Besides the new sets, they have also been provided with very high frequency low-band wireless sets in far-flung area for VIP security, he said. The wireless network in the police has been strengthened recently and 120 digital exchanges have been expanded up to 325 ports in 2008, he said. Latest wireless sets, earphones have also been procured exclusively for training the jawans and officers in communication security sector, he said. These state-of-the-art technology sets have been provided to police training institutions also, he said.
