Four with match tickets nabbed

Four persons who were in possession of about 250 tickets of the Chennai Open Tennis tournament were arrested on Tuesday.

Following complaints that tickets of the matches being played in the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu stadium were being sold at higher prices by a gang, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Central), P. Balasubramanian, formed a special team to investigate. The team arrested G. Sivakumar (31) of Manali Road in Korukkupet who was in possession of 41 tickets.

Following a tip-off, police raided a mansion in Chepauk and seized 214 tickets from Ramesh (29) of Chepauk, S. Shanmugam (31) of Korukkupet, and V. Siva (38) of MMDA Colony.
