BANGALORE: Members of the State Government and Government Concerns Drivers’ Federation on Tuesday protested against the display of a government official’s designation on a private car hired by the Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA). Chief Executive Officer of KEA Ibrahim, who came to the Vidhana Soudha to attend an official meeting, had hired a sports utility vehicle from a private travel company. A board displaying his designation and the department’s name was displayed on the front bumper of the car. Members of the federation who noticed the board, intercepted the car and damaged the board. They shouted slogans against the KEA and termed it an offence. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vidhana Soudha security) Kumaraswamy said that no case had been registered against the official.
