Maoists’ threat

Rourkela: A fresh incident of Maoists demanding money from a businessman at Raichhapala on Orissa-Jharkhand border has created panic among traders and common people.

Police said on Wednesday that an ultra group called ‘Jharkhand Badsa’ had entered a brick kiln last night and in the absence of its owner ordered the manager to pay Rs. 10 lakhs within 24 hours.

The group, which had about 8 members armed with pistols, also threatened the man with dire consequences if its demand was not met or the police was informed.
