DEHRA DUN: Constables Sanjay Singh and Brij Mohan Kumar posted at the Dalanwala police station here have been dismissed and sent to jail for having forced two students to enact obscene scenes and trying to blackmail them with video clippings made on their mobile phones. Sting operationThe victims turned lucky after approaching journalists of Dainik Jagran who conducted a sting operation where the cops arrived at the victim’s house in uniform and allegedly took Rs.3,000 as the first instalment for not arresting the couple. The cops had entered the house of the students on the pretext of verification of tenants. “This is a serious offence and we will deal strictly against any policeman found indulging in such acts,” said Inspector-General (Garhwal Range) Manoj Kumar. He thanked the media for playing a brave and positive role in nabbing the black sheep.
