Talent on display in carrom competition

KRISHNAGIRI: About 107 students, including 30 girls, from 33 government and aided schools participated in a district level carrom competition conducted here on Wednesday.

The Krishnagiri District Carrom Association and Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority (SDAT) jointly organised competitions for school students from 6th standard to 12th standard.

Competitions were conducted for boys and girls separately in singles and doubles.

In the boys doubles competition R. Kumaresan and K. Kumaran from Government Boys Hr. Sec. School, Kaveripattinam, bagged the first prize.

The second prize went to M. Anantha Kumar and R. Pachaiyappan of R.V. Boys Hr. Sec. School, Hosur, and third prize went to A. Ramith Furgan and K. Vimalan of Krishnalan Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Krishnagiri.

In the singles competition, M. Murali of Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School, Krishnagiri won the first prize.

The second prize went to R. Sivalingam of Panchayat Middle School, Kattikanapalli and the third prize went to M. Saravanan of Govt. Boys. Hr. Sec. School, Uthangarai.

In the girls doubles game, D. Kalaiarasi and T.A. Alagusubha of Cambridge Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Krishnagiri won the first prize, the second prize was bagged by S. Samima Banu and T. Gayatri of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Krishnagiri and third prize went to K. Keerthana and M. Lavanya of St. Anns Girls Hr. Sec. School, Krishnagiri.

In the singles game M. Vinutha of Government Girls Higher Secondary School bagged the first prize, R. Ashma of John Bosco Girls Hr. Sec. School, Hosur, got the second prize and the third prize went to V. Lavanya of Government High School, Kanakamutlu.
