Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC spokesman and former NoRKA Minister M.M. Hassan has urged the government to formulate a rehabilitation package for Keralites in the Gulf who have lost their jobs owing to the economic crisis. In a letter to the Chief Minister here on Wednesday, Mr. Hassan said the proposed rehabilitation package should focus on self-employment schemes with the assistance of the Union Ministry for Overseas Indian Affairs and financial institutions. Mr. Hassan, in another memorandum to Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, urged him to take the initiative to formulate a financial aid package for the rehabilitation project.
